Officeworks customer boxed in with BTS deliveries

Technical glitch blamed for cardboard overkill.

Officeworks has copped a social media blast in Perth over a delivery glitch that saw one online customer receive an order of 38 back-to-school items in 23 separate  boxes.

“Could someone please tell me the logic behind Officeworks delivery system,” the parent posted on Facebook.

“I ordered my kids booklists for the year and this is how it was delivered - 23 boxes for 38 items,” she said.

Some suggested the order might have come from different stores as the reason behind the multiple boxes, but the customer revealed the stationery came from the same place.

An Officeworks spokesperson told Yahoo News Australia the company has isolated the incident to their Perth customer fulfilment centre and said it was due to a technical fault.

“We are working to rectify this with our supply chain teams to ensure minimal materials are used when packing orders,” the spokesperson said.
