Amazon to open mega warehouse in Queensland

New DC to hold 500,000 plus products.

Amazon has announced plans to open a full-scale warehouse in Queensland with construction to be completed by the end of the year.

"The new fulfillment centre, which is the size of two rugby fields, will open before Christmas and will be the foundation of our Queensland operations," Amazon Australia operations director Craig Fuller said.

"The fulfillment centre, located on industrial land east of Brisbane, will house more than half a million products and will enable faster delivery to Queensland homes," he said.

Kate Jones, Queensland's minister for state development, tourism and innovation, added: “By having Amazon here we're going to see around 170 construction jobs between now and Christmas as this development gets expanded and also more importantly 200 ongoing jobs in the local community.”
