The coronavirus has created winners and losers among product categories.
Weatherdon Corporation, a supplier of products to the hotel, hospitality, aged care and office markets, is well-placed to measure the impact of the coronavirus on the business market.
Managing director Robert Weatherdon told Office Products News that the company has obviously experienced a substantial decrease in sales to the accommodation sector but has picked up business in two disparate categories – rubbish bins and crowd control barriers.
“The increased focus on hygiene has boosted demand for bins while the social distancing rules have created demand for the barriers,’ he said.
Weatherdon added that overall office market had declined but sales to the industrial market via Blackwoods were “doing OK”.
