BREAKING NEWS: Dumping duties on A4 copy paper dumped

Minister’s decision backdated to 18 January.

In welcome news for resellers, the Anti-Dumping Commission has exempted importers of A4 copy from dumping duties imposed over a period of time at the instigation of Opal Australian Paper.

Opal earlier this year ceased production of white paper at its Maryvale Mill in Victoria following a long-running industrial dispute involving wood supply.

Ed Husic, Federal Minister for Industry and Science, accepted the ADC’s recommendations following an inquiry and announced the exemption of duties for A4 copy paper exported to Australia from Brazil, China, Finland, Indonesia, South Korea, Russia, Slovakia and Thailand.

The exemption includes dumping and countervailing duties and has been backdated to 18 January.
