COS celebrates National Bubble Wrap Day
Who said office products are boring?
Complete Office Supplies has marked National Bubble Wrap Day by switching to biodegradable bubble wrap for its packaging and crafting needs.
COS said biodegradable bubble wrap naturally breaks down, leaving no harmful residues behind.
“At COS, we are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact and helping our customers do the same, which is why we have made a switch to biodegradable bubble wrap,” the company said.
Celebrated globally, National Bubble Wrap Day (also known as National Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day) is held in the last week of January.
Two engineers, Marc Chavannes and Alfred Fielding, created the first bubble wrap in 1957, first trying to sell it as wallpaper and later marketing it as greenhouse insulation.
In 1961 IBM, sensing an opportunity, used the product to protect the IBM 1401 computer during shipment.
