New Gold Coast outlet to open shortly.

 

Warehouse retailer Costco will open its 16th outlet in Australia within the next few weeks, coinciding with a $5 increase in its standard membership fee.

 

A regular consumer membership at Costco is $60 a year but it is going up to $65 in June.

 

The new Gold Coast store at Helensvale is the retailer’s third outlet in south-east Queensland, the other being located at North Lakes north of Brisbane and Ipswich.

 

Costco is planning to open new warehouses in the northern beaches area of Sydney and in the city’s southern suburbs. 

 

Costco’s annual sales in Australia were $3.67 billion to the end of last August last year, up 30 per cent, making it bigger than Myer, David Jones and Officeworks.
