Discount Office National buys York Stationers

Expanding reseller on the acquisition trail.

Sydney-based Discount Office National has acquired long-established reseller York Stationers.

York Stationers was established by Jeff Houseman in 1986 and has a retail and B2B operation under the O-Net brand based in Ultimo near the Sydney CBD.

“Jeff decided it was time to retire and he believed that Discount Office National was the perfect fit to acquire the business,” Discount Office National managing director John Donaghy told Office Products News.

Jeff Houseman commented: “I have known John and his business partner Terry Murphy for more than 20 years and believe we have the same ethics and customer philosophy.”

“My customers will fit in perfectly with the Discount service levels,” Houseman said.

Donaghy added: “We are very happy that Jeff selected Discount to continue the servicing of his customers---some that have been with him for more than 30 years. We have always been open in the need to acquire to continue to grow.

“This is our second acquisition following the purchase of City Stationery earlier this year and we continue to look for similar businesses to acquire. We believe we have the right model to maintain more than 80 per cent of the existing customer base and grow the business,” he said.

“We are planning to acquire at least two more business in the next 12 months,” he said.
