Flood fails to dampen opening ceremony in Port Macquarie
Page 5 Office National keeps another natural disaster at bay.
Port Macquarie dealer Page 5 Office National has had a year to remember, surviving bushfires, pandemics and now flooding.
Having staged a grand opening event last week to mark its move to new a new 1800 square metre complex at Sancrox (on the fringe of ‘Port’ ), the opening day downpour turned into a large-scale weather emergency across the entire mid-north coast.
Fortunately, the new premises were on high ground, not a far from the flooded Hastings River.
However, the business’ new owner Ben Hickson was stranded by floodwaters and was forced to work from home.
“Several other staff members around Wauchope were also stranded as were some of the guests who were invited to the opening,” Keeley Moseley, general manager of Page 5 Office National, told Office Products News.
“We were actually told to evacuate Sancrox the day after the opening and some of us had to go the long way home,” she said.
"We were so blessed to be able to fly the Office National banner and invite customers and suppliers to join our event, which was a great success," she added.
Special guests at the opening were Gary and Cilla Boyd, the former owners of Page 5 Office National, pictured above with Ben Hickson.
