Former OfficeMax CEO moves to Newell Brands
Ravi Saligram returns to OP industry.
Former OfficeMax CEO Ravi Saligram has been appointed CEO of Newell Brands, effective 2 October.
Saligram was the global head of OfficeMax from 2010 to 2013 before it was acquired by Office Depot.
In 2018, US private equity firm Platinum Equity completed its acquisition via Staples A/NZ (now known as Winc) of Office Depot’s OfficeMax business in Australia and New Zealand.
Saligram was most recently CEO of industrial auctioneers Ritchie Bros.
Among Newell Brands’ US brands are Sharpie, Rotring, Elmer’s, Dymo, PaperMate, Waterman and Parker.
Newell’s share price has fallen by around 50 per cent in the past 12 months.
