Global news: Fellowes, Amazon
A round-up of OP news from around the world.
Fellowes Brands (US) has announced a category-expanding launch of marker boards (pictured) to complement its line of contract interiors products.
This strategic move follows last year’s under-the-radar acquisition of North Carolina-based supplier Springboard Working Surfaces. Since then, Fellowes has expanded the marker board product range to include custom and quick-ship programmes for its contract customers under the Fellowes brand.
The Fellowes marker board offering will comprise multiple series falling under mobile boards, wall-mounted boards, and accessories. The offer will include premium materials, such as magnetic and non-magnetic glass, while porcelain wall boards will also be available.
Retailers sue Amazon UK
The British Independent Retailers Association (BIRA) has filed a £1 billion (US$1.3 billion) damages claim against Amazon.
In what is being described as a “landmark collective action”, BIRA is filing the claim on behalf of retailers selling on the Amazon UK marketplace.
The association alleges the e-commerce giant misused retailers’ data and manipulated the Amazon Buy Box to benefit its (Amazon’s) own commercial operations, revenues and profits.
