Global office supplies market to reach US$180 billion by 2026

A new market study published by research firm Global Industry Analysts Inc. has valued the global office stationery and supplies market in 2020 at US$150 billion and forecast to grow to $US180 billion by 2026.
The report released this month and titled ‘Office Stationery and Supplies - Global Market Trajectory & Analytics’, presents fresh perspectives on opportunities and challenges in a significantly transformed post-COVID-19 marketplace.
Computer/printer supplies is projected to record a four per cent compound average growth rate (CAGR) and reach US$69.3 billion by the end of the analysis period.
After an analysis of the business implications of the pandemic and its induced economic crisis, growth in the paper products segment has been re-adjusted to a revised 2.5 per cent CAGR for the next seven-year period.
The report found environmentalism looms large with 'green' products and private labels are gaining wider acceptance among consumers due to growing environmental concerns.
This increase in the number of home offices is creating huge need for stationery and mailing supplies.
In the global stationery/mailing supplies segment, USA, Canada, Japan, China and Europe will drive the 3.1 per cent CAGR estimated for this segment with China remaining among the fastest growing in this cluster of regional markets.
Led by countries such as Australia, India, and South Korea, the stationery/mailing supplies market in Asia-Pacific is forecast to reach US$2.1 billion by the year 2026, while Latin America will expand at a 4.1 per cent CAGR.
The research covered all major geographies and included more than 19,000 executive contacts across more than 800 companies.
