Hong Kong Stationery Fair back in business
Leading regional stationery show re-emerges from pandemic.
After being on hold for two years due to the pandemic, the Hong Kong International Stationery and Schools Supplies Fair is underway this week with exhibitors from eight countries and regions including Hong Kong, Korea, Mainland China, Malaysia, Taiwan, the UAE, the US and Vietnam.
“Given the challenges exhibitors have faced in recent years, maximising business opportunities has been at the core of our planning, whether it be digitally or at the fairground,” Judy Cheung, deputy general manager, Messe Frankfurt (HK), said.
“With trend forecasters identifying green stationery as the future of retail, it’s no surprise that this category is well represented this year,” she said.
In fact, stationery manufactured from biomass and plant-derived materials has grown in popularity in recent years with fair participants both new and old embracing this trend.
Natural copy paper made from sugarcane, for example, will be presented by first time Korean exhibitor Ecomass, while in the school supplies category, long-time American exhibitor Mirage features travel mugs made from plant fibre.
