Irish celebration for former Lyreco Australia boss
New HQ marks 50th anniversary to be sure.
Privately-owned French office products supplier Lyreco has invested $50 million in a new office and warehouse facility in Rathcoole, County Dublin, Ireland.
The new regional distribution facility is the largest of its kind in Ireland and the opening coincides with the company’s 50th anniversary in the country.
The managing director of Lyreco UK and Ireland since 2020 is Michael Milward, who was managing director of Lyreco Australia between 2014 and 2018.
Lyreco Australia was sold to Complete Office Supplies in May 2018 for an undisclosed sum.
Lyreco retained COS as a partner to service its international customers in Australia.
Between stints at Lyreco, Milward established MilwardDoran, a boutique advisory company specialising in business development and turnarounds for corporates, SMEs and franchise businesses.
“Lyreco has been quietly supporting Irish businesses for half a century, but the opening of our new premises shows that we are stepping up to the next level,” Milward said. “Our new Irish facility is part of an expansion plan that will see us creating 50 new jobs while significantly increasing our partnerships with indigenous suppliers as we help Irish companies adapt to new ways of working.”
