Lyreco signs up to supply Paris Olympics
Big emphasis on recycling and re-use of products.
French office products supplier Lyreco has signed up as an official supporter of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Under the terms of the agreement, the reseller will supply the organising teams and international delegations with furniture, PPE, and workplace equipment and supplies.
These products will be used in offices, accommodation and competition venues across more than 60 sites – mainly in the Paris region, but also in cities such as Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Lille, Nantes and St Etienne.
In all, more than 360,000 products totalling 760 tonnes are set to be shipped by Lyreco during the events.
Following the end of the Games in September 2024, the company has committed to collecting all the items in line with the organising committee’s circular economy commitment.
It is estimated that 84 per cent of products will either be reused or donated to charities, 14 per cent recycled and two per cent used to make new goods.
