Office Brands starts search for new head of merchandise
Andrew Gilbert steps down to join family business.
Office Brands is looking for a new head of merchandise following the resignation of Andrew Gilbert (pictured), who has stepped aside to re-join a family business.
Gilbert joined Office Brands in 2017 as a senior product manager, having previously been a director of food distribution business The Providore.
Prior to working in the family business, Gilbert spent nearly 12 years with Pelican Artline (now part of ACCO Brands Australia).
“Andrew informed us he is taking a temporary break from the corporate world to assist the family,” Adam Joy, CEO of Office Brands, said.
“Andrew has provided us significant advance notice and in another demonstration of his continuous focus on the needs of Office Brands’ members he has agreed to assist us in transitioning his replacement to the team and will support us through to September 30,” Joy said.
In a note to members, Joy added: “We are grateful for Andrew’s service for the past five years and for the pro-active approach he has taken to ensure we are supported through his departure.
“Andrew has been instrumental in the many successes for Office Brands members, including launching the Initiative range.
“Andrew’s deep analytical skills and knowledge of the office products industry will be difficult to replicate. Whilst he will be beneficial to the family business transition plans they are undertaking, the call of the corporate world may be too strong for him to resist forever. Andrew will be missed not only for his talent and leadership but also his personality and ethics that personified our values," Joy said.
Meantime, the dealer group has commenced the search for a replacement for Gilbert to lead its "strategy for end-to-end procurement".
