Office products drawn to Black Friday

Deals aplenty from retailers and resellers.
Australian stationery and office products retailers and resellers have once again embraced the Black Friday sales event with online promotions.
Amazon and Officeworks lead the way with specific Black Friday online offers with Officeworks promoting deals on tech, gaming and printers.
Officeworks has also produced a Black Friday catalogue, with a heavy emphasis on tech products and appliances.
Members of dealer groups Office National and Office Choice have also implemented localised promotions around Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The Black Friday sales, which have turned into a month-long affair kicking off in early November, mark the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season.
Last year, consumers spent a record $6.5 billion over the Black Friday weekend alone and that figure is expected to increase by four per cent to $6.8 billion this year, according to the Australian Retailers Association.
Now a major event on the Australian retail sales calendar, Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States. It traditionally marks the start of the Christmas shopping season and is the busiest shopping day of the year in the US.
Black Friday basics buyer
Ms Carly Seeto is using the Black Friday sales to buy toilet paper, cleaning products and stationery, according to a report in the Australian Financial Review.
“As a 37-year-old mum of two living in Sydney’s inner west, she sees the sales as a buffer against rising housing, schooling and grocery prices,” she told the AFR.
“I look for sales of household goods every day. I’m a bit obsessed,” she says. “With the sales that are happening, it just makes sense. I won’t be buying huge-ticket items unless I’m desperate.”
