Officeworks BTS appeal raises $1.3m

Funds will help families afford the cost of essential school supplies.

An additional 1800 Australian students impacted by poverty will receive support through The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program this year after Officeworks and its  customers raised $1.3 million through the retailer’s annual Back-to-School Appeal.

Funds raised will help families afford the cost of their child’s essential school supplies like uniforms, books and excursions, as well as providing personal support and extra educational programs to help students stay motivated and connected to their learning.

Sarah Hunter, managing director of Officeworks, said "”We believe every student deserves the chance to learn, grow, and chase their dreams, and thanks to the generosity of our customers, we’re helping make that a reality.

“I’m incredibly proud of our partnership with The Smith Family and deeply thankful to our customers and team members for their contributions to this year’s Appeal,” she said.

As an example of each store's contribution, Bunbury Officeworks in Western Australia raised more than $14,600 in its BTS appeal.
