Officeworks invites customers to creative love-in
In-store ‘Çreate-a-thon’ offers $25,000 prize.
Officeworks has invited people from all walks of life to express their creative side inside an Officeworks store on 16-17 March.
Hosted by DJ and media personality Flex Mami, with artists Beci Orpin and Darren Sylvester judging the competition, Officeworks' Create-a-thon invites creatives of all ages, disciplines, backgrounds and interests to make, ideate, rummage, design and create using any product and service found inside an Officeworks store.
The brief is simple – people can create anything they like using only what they can source in-store while up against the clock.
Teams will be judged based on three key criteria, ’Originality of idea’, ‘Skill and level of finish’ and ‘Use of materials and supplies’ to take home the grand prize of $25,000 cash.
Sophie Smith, Officeworks head of marketing, said: “We want to showcase our homegrown talent of all experience levels and backgrounds in an inclusive and exciting overnight event that will challenge their imaginations to explore the entire range of products and services we have on offer.”
Create-a-thon will be captured on film and released in early April to showcase each teams’ creative process, ‘lightbulb moments’ and the rush to the final countdown through commentary and game show-style vision.
To enter, contestants had to submit a 60-second video pitching their creative idea to be given the chance to compete in the competition.
