Officeworks recognised for health and safety programs

Retailer in spotlight at national safety awards
 
Officeworks’ commitment to the health and well-being of its team has been recognised at the National Safety Council of Australia (NSCA) Foundation’s 29th National Safety Awards of Excellence, which celebrate organisations and people that actively promote workplace health and safety. 
 
Winning two awards for Best Mental Health Program and Best Wellbeing Program, Officeworks received recognition for its Your Best Life program which supports team members with tools, education, and programs they need to maintain positive health and well-being. 
 
Launched in July 2020, Your Best Life works to create safe environments to reduce stigma and promote conversation, with the support of a mental health oversight committee, Mental Health Framework, and strategic partnerships with
Converge International and Moving Mindz. 
 
Alexandra Staley, Officeworks general manager - people, said: “The safety, health and well-being of our team and customers is our number one priority. 
 
“We know it’s not just about physical well-being though, it is also supporting our team to thrive mentally and emotionally both at work and at home “We have made in-roads over the past two years, however our work in this space is ongoing.”
 
The retailer has made 18 commitments in the plan, including creating a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring its team reflects the communities in which it operates and supporting local communities and small businesses.
