Secret shelf sorters of the stationery kind

A surprising new trend has taken over major stores across Australia.

According to social media reports, customers of Kmart and Aldi are taking things into their own hands when they get to the stationery department.

It seems many customers can’t resist the opportunity to tidy up shelves, particularly in sections such as stationery where there are many small items being tossed around.

A regular shopper took to a Cleaning and Organisation Inspiration Facebook group to showcase the progress she made by tidying up a messy stationery section.

“Anyone else go into their local Kmart and clean up big piles of chaos?,' she wrote. 'It’s ten minutes of therapy and I could do this all day long.”

“My daughter works for Kmart only so she can get paid when she does this,” wrote another woman.

There were several comments from staff members as well.

“Coming from someone who works in retail - you have no idea how much this actually helps,” they wrote.

But not everyone saw this woman's helping hand as a plus.

'We're in the middle of a pandemic,' one man wrote, “Stop touching everything.”
