Six hundred book packs and counting

Charity Fund seeking more stationery items for Dandelion Support Network.

The Australian Office Products Charitable Fund has continued its fund-raising program with Dandelion Support Network as the charity group deals with a sharp increase in demand for its services.

Dandelion has seen a 30 per cent increase in requests for stationery, nursery and clothing items for children over the past year.

In the last financial year, the group provided services to more than 2000 families with the number increasing to 3000 over the next 12 months.

The Charity Fund has once again committed to providing Dandelion with back-packs and book-packs and is seeking donations of stationery items from industry suppliers.

Charity Fund chairman John Donaghy said the office products industry’s support for Dandelion has been greatly appreciated by the charity, which last year distributed hundreds of book-packs to children in need.

“Dandelion ran out of the donated book-packs in less than two months last year and demand has only increased,“ he said. “I’m sure the industry will want to support them again and make a difference to the lives of more than 4000 children and their families.”
