Stationery store hit by LEGO thieves

A New Zealand stationery store has been targeted by thieves who have singled out expensive LEGO sets.

The Christchurch store owner, who did not want his business identified, said the sets were sold on Facebook Marketplace under a fake name.

He said LEGO sets are targeted by shoplifters because they are popular with buyers and sell quickly.

The owner said he had lost more than NZ$1000 after 30 sets, mostly Star Wars and 'LEGO City' versions, were stolen from his business.

Security camera photos have been taken of a person who is known to police.
