Warehouse Stationery gets that shrinking feeling

COVID-19 accelerates major restructure by parent company.
 
New Zealand’s Warehouse group has announced the closure of another Warehouse Stationery store as part of a major company-wide restructure which could around result in more than 1000 job losses.
 
The Warehouse Stationery store at Te Awamutu is expected to close its doors in min-October.
 
The Warehouse CEO Nick Grayston said the COVID-19 pandemic had accelerated the company’s long-term plans to close unprofitable stores.
 
As part of the restructure, several other Warehouse Stationery stores have been closed and revamped as a ‘store within a store’ at larger general merchandise Warehouse outlets.
 
A Warehouse spokesperson said: "While the brands will continue to operate as separate stores (including having both uniforms), Warehouse Stationery customers will be able to benefit from a wider range of products and longer opening hours (8am-9pm) while The Warehouse customers can enjoy the addition of a print and copy centre and an extensive stationery and technology range."
