Former Warehouse Stationery CEO crosses ditch to Big W

New overseas role for senior Kiwi retail exec.
 
Pejman Okhovat, chief operating officer of New Zealand’s The Warehouse Group and a former CEO of the company’s Warehouse Stationery division (pictured), has announced his decision to leave the country’s largest retail group.
 
Okhovat will leave the group in early 2022 to join Big W in Australia as managing director, replacing David Walker, who has been assigned to the new role of chief risk officer at parent company Woolworths. 
 
Okhovat started his retail career in the UK in 1995 has been with TWG since 2005, taking on roles such as GM Operations and Property before being appointed CEO of Warehouse Stationery. 
 
TWG group chief executive Nick Grayston said Okhovat had played a significant role in improving the performance of The Warehouse and Warehouse Stationery brands.
 
"Pejman was instrumental in developing and implementing the strategy of everyday low prices, significantly growing the online business of both The Warehouse and Warehouse Stationery, and structuring the Red and Blue sheds to deliver a great omnichannel retail experience to our customers," he said.
