Charity golf day tops off ‘stellar year to remember’
Office products industry hits off for Limbs 4 Kids.
The Australian Office Products Charitable Fund has presented a cheque for $15,000 to Limbs 4 Kids, the proceeds from last week’s successful charity golf day.
Nearly 70 players hit off in the four-person ambrose event, held at Macquarie Links International Golf Course, west of Sydney.
Three teams came in with equal net scores - Opal (overall winner), Visionchart (scratch winner), and Discount Office National (runner-up on a countback).
The Limbs 4 Kids program is an initiative of Limbs 4 Life, Australia’s peak organisation for amputees and persons living with limb difference.
Golf day sponsors and supporters included ACCO Brands, Opal (Australian Paper), Dynamic Supplies, Hamelin, Office Brands, Office Choice (drinks cart sponsor), Bennetts Office Supplies, Our Town & Country Office National, Avery, Verbatim, Mitsubishi Pencil and Pilot Pen.
AOPCF chairman John Donaghy said the golf day completed a “stellar year” for the children’s charity, despite the challenges of COVID-19.
“It’s an understatement to say that 2020 will be a year to remember but the AOPCF has had a stellar year and has distributed more than $140,000 to many worthwhile causes,” he said. See separate story for full AOPCF end-of-year report.
The next charity golf day will return to its scheduled date next year - 26 March – at Macquarie Links.
