3M lifts sales of stationery and office products
Company announces new goal for eco-friendly products and packaging.
3M has reported an increase in sales in its home improvement, stationery and office supplies division.
The company said first quarter sales of US$1.4 billion were up 9.8 per cent despite a drop in consumer health and safety product sales.
Sales increased across all geographic markets.
The company’s total sales were up 9.6 per cent to US$8.9 billion.
Meantime, 3M announced that it expects to reduce its dependence on virgin fossil-based plastics by 56 million kilograms by 2025.
To achieve this goal, 3M is innovating the products and packaging in its Consumer Business Group with advancements focused on the use of recycled content and bio-based plastics, as well as more sustainable product and packaging designs to decrease overall plastic use.
