Donation will assist in controlling ‘rampant’ COVID transmission.
ACCO Brands Australia has donated more than 36,000 bottles of hand-sanitising gel to the Boroko Rotary Club of Papua New Guinea to assist in the control of germs and bacteria.
Verus Global, a leader in supply chain management, has donated the cost of freight to the PNG capital Port Moresby,
Working with Boroko Rotary immediate past president, Lautofa McCarthy Pulotu, ACCO Brands and Verus Global have delivered 36,400 bottles of Northfork 500ml Instant Hand Sanitising Gel into the region.
The sanitising gel will assist in keeping hands clean and germ-free, especially in an area where the COVID-19 cases have surged since March this year.
There are more than 3,000 active cases of COVID19 in PNG, with Prime Minister James Marape previously announcing that there is "rampant community transmission" across the nation.
“Maintaining personal hygiene is one of the easiest and fastest ways to control the spread of germs and bacteria. This donation will assist Boroko residents in controlling further outbreaks in the local community,” McCarthy Pulotu said.
