Retailers sign up for same-day service.

 

British retailer WH Smith is partnering with Deliveroo in an exclusive trial to bring their customers a new offer of 600 products including stationery, home office products and books direct-to-door in as little as 20 minutes

 

The new service will be rolled out to a further nine stores across the UK over the few weeks.

 

Products on the Deliveroo system include core stationery and working-from-home essentials, such as WHSmith's ECO notebooks, HP inkjet printer cartridges, Pilot rollerball pens, envelopes and parcel tape.

 

In the US,. DoorDash is venturing into office supply delivery, another example e of food delivery aggregators diversifying to improve the economics of their business models.

 

The company is working with Office Depot to offer delivery from more than 1000 Office Depot and OfficeMax locations, making more than 10,000 of the office supply retailer’s products available on DoorDash’s marketplaces.

 

“As we continue to expand into new categories to meet consumers’ need for convenience, we are thrilled to add Office Depot as our premier office and business and learning solutions retailer on the DoorDash platform,” DoorDash vice-president of business development Shanna Prevé said.
