Customers benefit from online comparisons.

 

Officeworks has lived up to its ‘price-beating’ policy with one shopper receiving a $75 discount after comparing prices with giant online site Amazon.

 

Officeworks' ‘Price Beat Guarantee’, by which it will beat a competitor's price by five per cent, also applies to products offered by online retailers such as Amazon.

 

The shopper, who purchased a 9th Generation 64GB iPad, shared a photo of her receipt in a Facebook group for bargain hunters, showing that Officeworks dropped the $499 asking price to $423.70 to beat Amazon's offer of $446 on the same iPad model.

 

Another member of the group revealed she went to Officeworks after seeing the original post and received a similar discount for the same product. 

 

"Our Price Beat Guarantee includes products you find online – as long as the item is identical and in stock," the Officeworks website states. 

 

"If the identical, in-stock product can be purchased and delivered to your location via an online store for a total price lower than the one we are offering, we will beat that total price by five per cent," Officeworks says.
