Kulbardi joins ASA Australia dealer group

Indigenous business signs with expanding dealer group.

Australia’s largest Indigenous office supplies company has joined dealer group ASA Australia.

Perth-based Kulbardi, which has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Darwin, will join the expanding national dealer group on 1 July.

Kulbardi was established in 2013 by Kim Collard, who later founded the Bibbulmun Fund, which supports Indigenous communities through the sale of the Bibbulmun range of stationery and office supplies.

Through its previous association with Quick Corporate Australia (now part of Complete Office Supplies), Kalbardi  was a member of Office Choice but left the dealer group last year to operate as an independent.

Simon Rutherford, general manager of Kulbardi, told Office Products News that the Bibbulmun range is still available through Office Choice and selected newsagencies and is “leaving the door open” to other channels.

In 2021, Kulbardi entered a third-party logistics (3PL) agreement with ATOM, one of Australia’s fastest-growing industrial and safety products suppliers.

The partnership with ATOM has provided Kulbardi national distribution capability giving Kulbardi instant access to service to a greater number of regions than previously available..

Last month, Kulbardi signed a deal with mining giant BHP to supply canteen supplies.

Other members of ASA Australia include Adelaide Direct Stationers, Blue Ink Fyshwick (ACT), Sharp Office (Broadmeadow), Impact Office Supplies (Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast), Tosco Business & Education (Bohle, Cairns), Coffs Harbour Office Supplies, Holiday Coast Office (Taree), Localworks (Geralton) and Illawarra Office Solutions (Unanderra).

Collard is also a finalist in the 2024 NAIDOC Male Elder Awards, to be announced as part of NAIDOC Week (7-14 July).
