Office Products Charity Fund moves up a gear

Industry leaders meet to map out the way forward.

The Australian Office Products Charity Fund (the ‘Charity Fund’) has mapped out a plan to increase its fund-raising efforts across the wider workplace supplies sector.

The Charity Fund has raised more than $1.7 million since its inception, assisting many children’s charities that receive little or no financial support from the wider community.

The Fund also provides assistance to individuals in the industry who have been impacted by health issues or natural disasters such as fires and floods.

At a lunch in Sydney on 16 August, Charity Fund committee members and representatives of major sponsors of the Fund met to formulate a plan to:
  • Promote the Fund and its activities to the wider workplace supplies community.
  • Launch an independent industry awards program to recognise individual achievement.
  • Develop stronger engagement with younger members of the industry.
  • Provide greater networking opportunities at Charity Fund events, including a proposed Race Day..
  • Develop a program of one-day and luncheon events to address current industry trends.
John Donaghy, managing director of Discount Office National and chairman of the Charity Fund, said: “In order to continue to assist worthwhile children’s charities and provide on-going support for individuals within the industry in need, the Fund needs to maintain momentum and attract a wider network of like-minded people across the workplace supplies industry.

“The Fund greatly appreciates the support of major suppliers and wholesalers and their input will ensure the Fund makes the most of the opportunities that exist now and in the future,” he said.
