Officeworks pushes people and planet program
Retailer reports on a range of positive initiatives.
Officeworks’ environmental and community support activities have been highlighted in the retailer’s latest People and Planet Positive Report.
Key achievements include raising more than $5.3 million for local communities, supporting more than 60,000 students since 2020, and planting 1.5 million plants to restore 1,990 hectares of land on behalf of its customers.
- Officeworks will also power 100 per cent of its operations with renewable energy from January 1 achieving this milestone ahead of schedule.
- The company’s People and Planet Positive range, launched in 2020, has seen year-on-year growth of 10 per cent generating around $100 million in sales in FY24.
- The Bring it Back program located at the front of stores has helped customers recycle over 11,000 tonnes of unwanted products since 2020.
- Since 2017, Officeworks has partnered with Greening Australia to plant two plants for every one used, based on the weight of paper products customers purchase.
- Officeworks has also supported 17,059 Australian students, with more than 60,000 students helped since the launch of its People and Planet Positive Plan in 2020.
