Stationery suppliers support 400 children
Roundabout thanks the Charity Fund and supporters.
Charity group Roundabout says last week’s donation of stationery backpacks will have a positive impact on the school lives of 400 children.
The Australian Office Products Charitable Fund delivered 400 book packs to Canberra-based charity group following an appeal for items from a number of suppliers.
In thanking Charity Fund chairman John Donaghy, Roundabout ‘s CEO said: “I would like to thank you and your colleagues from the Australian Office Products Charitable Fund for your generosity in supporting Roundabout Canberra with 400 backpacks, complete with every item of stationary a child could need.
“Roundabout Canberra provides children in the Canberra region with safe, essential material goods, including cots, prams, car seats, clothing, bedding, toys, school items, toiletries and more.
“So far this year we’ve supported over 3500 children and expect to help 5000 by the end of the year.
“We view school items as a crucial component of the material goods a child need to thrive and to fit in with their peers.
“We know that when children face material deprivation it can impact school attendance and participation.
"We often have trouble getting hold of sufficient supplies of school items, so this generous donation will ensure that 400 additional children have access to the items they need to participate at school.”
