Flood relief supplies air-lifted to North Queensland residents.

 

Winc has given a shout-out to Hinchinbrook Shire Council for its assistance earlier this month in delivering much-needed supplies to residents affected by historic floodwaters.

 

With the roads cut, the council stepped in to hire a helicopter to transport 10,000 litres of Winc’s Cleera Disinfectant into the flood zone. 

 

These essential supplies supported the clean-up effort in around 3000 flood-affected homes. 

 

Hinchinbrook Shire Council mayor, Ramon Jayo, said weeks of intense rainfall and flooding have dampened the Hinchinbrook region, but not the spirits of locals.

 

With the immediate threat to life and property now passed, the council is developing a recovery plan that deals with the economic, environmental, human-social and infrastructure impacts of the floods.
