‘Tis the season for PC co-worker office gifts
Job security – the gift that keeps on giving.
As it is the season for office Christmas parties, employee and manager ‘thank you’s’ and the now entrenched ‘Secret Santa’ ceremony, it’s time to think about appropriate gifts for the workplace.
A recent study of small business managers found that the ‘Me Too’ movement and the PC police have made festive season gift-giving in the workplace a cautious exercise.
Consequently, the survey found the most popular, affordable (and possibly safest) Christmas gifts for clients, team members and bosses were, in no particular order:
- Gift basket
- Books
- Candles
- Desk organiser
- Charging station
- Desk lamp and fans
- Hot and cold drink tumblers
- Coffee mug
- Headphones
- Event tickets
- Books
- Desk plants
Other suggestions not on the list included:
- Countdown to retirement clock
- Work station guest book (for when the worker is MIA)
- Executive decision-maker (spin the dial for actions such as maybe, sit-on-it and pass-the-buck).
