Office Brands and OPDNZ stick with OPANZ
Trans-Tasman alliance continues.
Following the departure of Office Choice from OPANZ, the two remaining members – Office Brands and Office Products New Zealand - have reaffirmed their commitment to support the joint buying group.
Gavin Ward, CEO of Office Brands, and Grant Sheridan, general manager of OPDNZ, said they would continue to work together, and with suppliers, to make the most of group cooperation under the OPANZ banner.
Ward told OPN: “The principles of directing additional support and cooperation with suppliers for the ultimate benefit of members remains intact. It is through such cooperation that we have developed a number of initiatives that have been beneficial for our members and suppliers alike. It is important that we protect and grow these opportunities.”
Sheridan added: “There are a number of levels of cooperation between the groups in marketing, purchasing and development of systems, that are providing substantial benefits to members. The ranging aspects have enabled us to create greater focus on better ranges and pricing for our members. Nothing of that changes with the departure of the Choice group.”
Ward said that OPANZ would be “open to discussing opportunities for cooperation with other partners in this market, but there is no immediate urgency at this point.
“We certainly see that the existing support agreements and initiatives have been beneficial for our group and we would like to continue to develop these opportunities for the mutual benefit of our members and suppliers,” he said.
